The museum is located in New Haven at 170 Whitney Avenue, at the corner of Sachem Street, one block north of Trumbull Street.
- By Car
- In New Haven, Connecticut, take Exit 3 off Interstate 91 (either north or southbound) onto the Trumbull Street connector, turn right at the second intersection onto Whitney Avenue (follow the posted signs to the Peabody Museum).
- By Train
- The Yale Peabody Museum is convenient to Amtrack, MTA Metro-North Railroad and Shore Line East passenger rail service in New Haven.
On weekdays LIMITED parking is available in the Yale Peabody Museum Visitors Parking Lot at the far south end of Yale Lot 22 (please note the signs inside the lot.) The entrance is accessible from Whitney Avenue one block north of the Museum opposite Humphrey Street. On entering go to the very end of the entrance drive and make a left; continue down to the end to the second yellow gate. The parking fees are payable at the Museum Admissions Desk.
Please be aware parking availability in the lot is very limited. If the lot is full, metered street parking is available on adjacent streets. On weekends, parking in the Peabody lot, and in the adjacent Yale parking lots, is free and open to the public.
