Description

From Wikipedia: The American Museum of Natural History is a landmark on the Upper West Side, Manhattan, New York, USA. The museum has a scientific staff of more than 200, and sponsors over 100 special field expeditions each year. Located on park-like grounds, the museum is comprised of 25 interconnected buildings that house 46 permanent exhibition halls, research laboratories, and its renowned library. The collections contain over 32 million specimens of which only a small fraction can be displayed at any given time.[1]

Tips

  • A lot of the sculptures are inappropriate. You may feel quite awkward.

It is a nice date. You can watch an IMAX, which is shown every hour on the half hour. Or you can go to the planitarium and watch the movie there. Afterwards you can walk to Deli Kasbah, Noi Due, or screams ice cream.

The Museum is FREE. There is a "suggested donation" (Something over $20) that they play off as if that's the museum price. You can give any denomination you wish (or none at all). Come on don't get suckered into paying "full" price. Give it to tzedakah or a worthy cause

Hours Subject to change. Always verify.

  • Open daily, 10:00 a.m.–5:45 p.m.
  • Closed Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
