why are some people machpid not to use his hashgacha?
i am makpid...
I am makpid about relying on his hechsher because although i have seen his hechsher
on all the dunkin donuts, i and everyone i know have never seen this rabbi in our lives

He exists
Rav Mehlman certainly still exists, B"H, and he is still the head Rav of Congregation Ohav Sholom in Manhattan. He provides hashgachah for many establishments in the Upper West Side.
